If you think hill station drives are just about reaching the destination, the journey from Shimla to Chail will change your mind. This short mountain route is filled with pine forests, valley views, royal history, and peaceful temples, making it an experience in itself. While staying in Shimla, we have planned a day visit to this little explored, untouched hillstation Chail that offers a refreshing escape from the crowds and chaos of popular tourist destinations. We started our day journey around 11:00 AM after heavy breakfast so that we can utilise our lunch time to travel. Located on the highest peak of Chail, this small temple dedicated to Goddess Kali offers panoramic views of the Shivaliks and a calm that is hard to describe.
